All about Kirk

I was an Air Force brat. Traveled and lived in places all over the country. I went to college in Waco Texas. (SicEm Baylor Bears!) I snooped around the college radio station in my second week and was on the air a few days later. I’m not going to say how many years ago that was. I ended up being the student manager for that station my junior and senior years while also working at several of the local stations. I still wonder how I graduated.

The radio trail… years on the air in the smaller towns like Bryan Texas (any Aggies out there?), Pensacola, Myrtle Beach, Missoula Montana. The bigger places too ..afternoons in Houston and Toledo, mid-days in Atlanta, mornings in San Francisco and Dallas. I’ll take life in the smaller places. I love Southern Kerntucky!!

• I’m coming up on my 36th wedding anniversary. My wife tells me she likes Bowling Green too much to leave it. You may run into her at yard sales and antique shops. We have 3 adult kids who are all here. I also share my house with 6 very vocal dogs. You every heard of Chiweenies? Half miniature Dachshund, half Chihuahua.  There’s 5 of those..and one big ham of an Australian Shepherd named Max.  The zoo doesn’t stop there. Two cats and two gerbils.   I keep putting my foot down having no more animals. Somehow it turns into a vote.  They occupy my living room sofa and occasionally let me sit there.

Hobbies? Well there’s radio. It’s not just a job. There’s golf (thank goodness I don’t have to depend on those skills to feed my family). There’s fishing (same also applies). Mostly there’s time with family and making new friends at church as well as elsewhere in the community.
